why public bodies work with us.
- welsh-first, not welsh-translated. Dafydd is Welsh first-language. Welsh scripts, voiceover and subtitles are written in Welsh from the start, then English versions are produced alongside. No translation drift, no awkward phrasing.
- welsh language standards aware. We understand the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 and how it shapes public-facing communications. Bilingual visual hierarchy, equal-status captions and proper Welsh typography are built into every deliverable.
- procurement-friendly paperwork. PLI certificate, employer’s liability, drone insurance, CAA Operator ID, GDPR registration and policy documents available on request. We respond promptly to ITT, RFQ and Sell2Wales tender requests.
- broadcast-grade experience. Mona Digital is built on 5+ years of broadcast crew experience — editor, camera, sound and drone roles on long-running productions including S4C Gogglebocs Cymru, Channel 4 The Great House Giveaway, S4C Tŷ Am Ddim and BBC The One Show. The same standard applied to council, funded-body and brand content — without London agency overheads.
- local presence, real knowledge. We’re an Anglesey-based studio. We know the geography, the communities, the dialect and the cultural context first-hand. That shows up in every script, location call and edit decision.
built for procurement.
WCAG 2.1 AA captions & accessibility
Every Mona Digital video deliverable for the public sector ships with embedded captions, separate Welsh and English subtitle tracks (.vtt and .srt), audio description scripts where required, and edit-stage checks for contrast, motion safety and text-on-video readability. Meets the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 + WCAG 2.1 AA. Audit evidence pack on request.
Welsh Language Standards (2016)
Mona Digital understands the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 and the Welsh Language Standards regulations every devolved public body in Wales is statutorily bound by. Welsh and English versions are produced together with equal-status visual treatment, equal-status captions, proper Welsh typography (including the “ŵ” / “ŷ” diacritics that auto-translate workflows tend to break), and first-language Welsh script review by the founder, who is Welsh first-language.
Sell2Wales registered supplier
Mona Digital is registered on Sell2Wales (the Welsh Government’s public sector procurement portal) and responds to relevant ITT, RFQ and quick-quote opportunities. Happy to be added to council preferred-supplier lists, dynamic purchasing systems and framework agreements on request. Supplier registration pack, including company info, insurance certificates, GDPR registration and policy documents, available the same working day.
PPN 03/24 Carbon Reduction Plan
Mona Digital’s Carbon Reduction Plan is aligned with Procurement Policy Note 03/24, the UK public sector procurement standard. Net Zero by 2050 commitment, 2026 baseline emissions, annual review and current-action register all published openly at /carbon-reduction-plan/. Required for contracts over £5m; useful evidence for any procurement under that threshold too. Most small video suppliers don’t publish one — having it ready removes a blocker on day one.
Social value under the Procurement Act 2023
The Procurement Act 2023 and Welsh Procurement Policy Notes require contracting authorities to weight bids on social value. Mona Digital’s structural answer: local Welsh-language hire (a Welsh-speaking, Welsh-first-language sole trader rather than a sub-contracted London freelancer), cultural fluency embedded in the supply chain, low transport carbon footprint (Anglesey base vs Cardiff/London commute), and discretionary local supplier preference on every shoot. We’ll help you write the social-value narrative into your tender award if it helps.

Procurement & delivery — common questions
For anything specific to a tender, framework or funding programme, get in touch directly. We respond within one working day.
Can you produce video content that complies with Welsh Language Standards?
Yes. Welsh and English versions are produced together as standard, with equal visual treatment, equal-status captions and proper Welsh typography. Dafydd is a Welsh first-language speaker, so Welsh content is written and reviewed in Welsh as part of the workflow. AI-assisted drafting is used as a productivity tool on tight deadlines — the same approach Welsh public bodies use internally — with first-language review before release.
Are you on any procurement frameworks (Sell2Wales, Atamis, ProContract)?
Mona Digital is registered on Sell2Wales and responds to relevant ITT, RFQ and quick-quote opportunities. We're happy to be added to council preferred-supplier lists and dynamic purchasing systems on request. Contact us for our supplier registration pack.
What insurance do you carry?
Public liability insurance (£2m), employer's liability and specific drone insurance covering CAA-licensed commercial operations. Certificates available on request as part of any procurement process.
Can your videos meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards?
Yes. We supply video with embedded captions, separate Welsh and English subtitle (.vtt or .srt) tracks, audio description scripts where required, and provide guidance on transcript publishing. Contrast, motion safety and text-on-video readability are reviewed at the edit stage.
Do you have experience with SPF (Shared Prosperity Fund) projects?
Yes. We understand the reporting, branding and bilingual delivery requirements of SPF-funded work, including funder logo placement, evaluation video formats and case-study deliverables. We're comfortable working within the project lifecycle and milestone reporting expected by funded programmes.
How do we get a quote for a public sector project?
Email [email protected] with a brief, expected timeline and any procurement code or framework reference. Public sector work is quoted on request — every project is scoped against the brief, not a price list. We respond within one working day with a tailored proposal or follow-up questions. For formal tenders, we'll provide the full bid pack required.
discuss your project.
Procurement cycles are long. Get in touch early — even before a formal tender — and we’ll help shape the brief, the deliverables and the budget around what you actually need.
