CAA-licensed drone filming.
what we fly for.
aerial cinematography
Cinematic establishing shots, sweeping reveals, top-down patterns, follow-shots and orbits. 4K HDR capture from the DJI Mini 3 Pro — broadcast-grade colour, RAW stills, true vertical mode for social. Used across campaign films, brand spots and music videos.
property + holiday-let aerials
Establishing aerials for luxury short-lets, holiday cottages and country estates — the shots that show position, grounds and surroundings in a way no ground-level camera can. Sub-250g drone available for restricted-zone flying near built-up areas.
tourism + landscape
Eryri, the Anglesey coast, the Llŵn peninsula, the Conwy valley, North Wales castles. Aerial sequences for tourism boards, regional brands, government promotions and broadcast inserts. Eryri restricted airspace handled professionally — paperwork in advance, no surprises.
public sector + regeneration
Regeneration project progress, infrastructure documentation, environmental monitoring, council promotional content. Risk assessments, permissions and Operations Manual entries handled inside the standard quote — no surprises on procurement docs.
why councils + producers trust us with the airspace.
- properly licensed, properly insured. CAA Flyer ID + Operator ID held in current registration. Specific commercial drone insurance via Coverdrone — public liability £2m, equipment cover, full UK + Wales operations. Certificates supplied as part of any procurement bid or production contract on request.
- broadcast crew credits. Drone operator credits include BBC The One Show, ITV The Bay, Netflix The Last Kingdom, Channel 4 Great House Giveaway, S4C Tŷ Am Ddim, Discovery Wheeler Dealers and the 2023 feature film Neeyat (alongside crew work via Aerialworx). The same standards applied to brand and council work — without London production rates.
- sub-250g — chosen on purpose. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is the right tool for North Wales airspace — sub-250g means Open Category A1, fewer regulatory restrictions near built-up areas, easier permissions in restricted zones, quieter flight (better for property + wildlife-sensitive locations), and 4K HDR capture that holds up in broadcast colour grades. Not a compromise — a deliberate choice for the work we actually fly.
- airspace homework done in advance. NOTAM checks, ATC permissions where needed, MOD low-fly area awareness, Eryri National Park byelaws, RAF Valley exclusion zones. Everything is checked, paperwork filed, and risk assessment shared with the client before the flight day. That avoids the very British problem of arriving on location and discovering you can’t legally fly.
- weather-aware, not just weather-affected. North Wales weather has a sense of humour. We watch the forecast for several days before any drone shoot, fly the optimal weather window even if that means rescheduling, and have backup days built into bigger productions. Better to fly on the right day than fly on the booked day.

Drone & aerial — common questions
For specific airspace, location or production questions, get in touch directly. We respond within one working day.
Are you a CAA-licensed drone operator?
Yes. CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID are held in current registration with the UK Civil Aviation Authority — both required for legal commercial drone operations in the UK. Documentation can be supplied as part of any procurement process, production contract or location agreement.
How much does drone filming cost in North Wales?
Half-day drone shoots from £400 (4 hours on site, 5K/4K deliverables, single-location work). Full-day aerials from £750 (multi-location, full edit + grade). Combined ground + drone productions are quoted on request — usually saves a travel day vs. booking separately. See the package cards above for details, or get in touch with the brief for a tailored quote.
Can you fly in restricted areas like Eryri (Snowdonia) or near built-up locations?
Eryri National Park has specific byelaws on drone use that we’re familiar with — flights are possible in many locations with the correct permissions and risk assessment. Our DJI Mini 3 Pro is sub-250g (Open Category A1), which means fewer regulatory restrictions near built-up areas and easier permissions in many restricted zones. Specific exclusion zones (RAF Valley, MOD low-fly areas, certain airports) still require advance notice and may not be flyable at all — we will tell you straight before booking.
What insurance do you carry for drone work?
Specific commercial drone insurance via Coverdrone — public liability £2m, equipment cover, full UK + Wales operations. This is in addition to general public liability insurance for ground-based work. Certificates available on request, typically supplied alongside the CAA Operator ID for any procurement bid or production contract.
What deliverables come from a drone shoot?
Standard delivery is colour-graded 4K or 5K footage in ProRes or H.264, with selected hero stills also delivered as 12MP+ JPEG / RAW where requested. Edited drone-only highlight cuts (60–90 seconds) available on request as part of a wider package. Welsh and English subtitle / caption files supplied where the drone footage is part of a campaign film.
Can you provide drone work alongside a wider video / photography shoot?
Yes — most drone work is booked as part of a larger production day. Aerial footage cuts naturally into brand films, property tours, event coverage and tourism campaigns. Booking together usually saves a travel day and keeps the visual treatment consistent across ground and air. Get in touch with the full brief and we’ll structure it as one package.
