Menter Mônarfon timber
scroll for the storyArfon Timber Frames is the small-batch Welsh-larch timber-frame business run by Mark Chapman on Anglesey. The way Mark talks about it, building a house out of timber on this scale — a two-storey gable, scaffolding around all four sides, OSB-airtight membrane wrapped and taped at every junction — is closer to boat-building than to volume housebuilding. Each frame designed and cut for the site it's going on.
Menter Môn commissioned this short film as part of their wider series on community organisations across north-west Wales. We worked with Mark and his crew on an active build — interviews on site with the gable as the backdrop, scaffolding-level detail of airtight tape on green-coated OSB, the quiet competence of the craftsmen in branded Arfon Timber Frames hi-vis, and a border collie keeping watch on the grass.
The film was delivered bilingually with full Welsh and English subtitles, ready for Menter Môn's social channels and partner network.
