The Boathouse, Red Wharf Baycontent day
scroll for the storythe brief
The Boathouse at Red Wharf Bay needed enough usable material from a single shooting day to feed their socials and website for months — without it ever feeling like the same shoot on repeat.
The brief covered exterior and identity, interiors, food across breakfast, café and evening services, lifestyle moments, and a vertical 9:16 reel cut from the same day.

the approach
One shooting day, structured to move with the light. Exteriors and beachfront identity early, the upstairs dining room with bay views through the middle of the day, the bar at golden hour, food blocked across the three services as the kitchen ran them.
Lit naturally against the windows where possible, with subtle fill where the contrast between the bright bay outside and the moodier interior tones inside needed taming.

the making
On location at Red Wharf Bay (Traeth Coch), Anglesey. The iconic Boat House sign and beachfront frontage; the upstairs dining room with its turquoise booths looking out over the bay; the gift shop, the wooden lobster wall, the bar at golden hour.
Food covered across all three services: calamari with chilli jam lifted in mid-action, seared halloumi fries with pomegranate and chilli dip, mussels marinière, slow-roast pork belly, Welsh cakes and scones, fresh-pulled lattes. Photography and social media content captured side by side, so a still and a vertical clip share the same moment.
Guest and lifestyle frames shot candidly — the room reading family-run, busy, loved rather than staged.

the outcome
Exterior and identity stills, interior stills, food photography across breakfast, café and evening services, lifestyle stills, and a vertical 9:16 social reel — all shot in one day at Red Wharf Bay.
A body of work the team can pull from for everything from menu changes to off-season campaigns, without going back to camera.

the meaning
A small Anglesey hospitality brand running on its own operations doesn't need a constant content schedule — it needs a deep enough well to draw from when the season changes. One day on location, one library that lasts.
