Menter Mônysgol henblas
scroll for the storyHwyl Henblas 2024 is the music festival the pupils of Ysgol Henblas, the village primary in Llangristiolus on Anglesey, organised and ran themselves. Stage on the school field, lineup of Bwncath, Elin Fflur, Y Brodyr Magee, Y Moniars, Rhwydwaith, sound and lighting on a proper outdoor rig — and a class of ten- and eleven-year-olds in STAFF t-shirts running the door, the merch table, the show.
Menter Môn commissioned this short film as part of their wider series on community organisations across north-west Wales. We spent the day on site — interviews with the pupils in their classroom about what they'd planned, how they'd organised it, who they'd booked; behind-the-scenes shots of the gig itself; the audience in the rain on the school field, and the choir on stage in matching orange.
The film was delivered bilingually with full Welsh and English subtitles, ready for Menter Môn's social channels and partner network.
